I once remember having a link to the number of Certified Professional from Microsoft, but I lost it. Today I was browsing through old posts of Merill Fernando’s (MVP) blog and I finally found the missing link.

This is the link

As a MCSD in .NET I’m one of 20582 globally.

As always I would like to thank my Parents, My Friends, My boss Yaseer and Dammika for all the help they have rendered which enabled me to achieve this feat. Thank you so much……………………………………………

Philanthropy is ‘ Voluntary promotion of Human Welfare ‘ - We might also call this, ‘ Charity ‘. In Buddhism we call the same thing ‘Dhana’ or ‘Chaga’. It’s that we do something or give something to someone without clinging to it.

Well………………… the reason why I’m discussing Philanthropy or Charity is because we have an inner feeling that those who are rich should give some of their riches back to the world as much as possible.

Whole world knows that there is a generation of Multi Billionares who emerged through various industries and, IT is in the forefront of this. I do’nt have any problem How Bill Gates got rich……………………Actually why should I bother.

But I do care If he can give back atleast a fraction of his ‘Windows fortune’. That is why I’m dedicating this post for Mr and Mrs Gates Foundation.

Sri-Lanka was very unfortunate to witness yet another barbaric act of Terror from the LTTE terrorists. They set up a fragment (Caymore) mine targetting innocent civilians who were travelling in a bus. 63 were killed while most of them were Children going to school and women going to a nearby clinic.

World should view these absolutely inhuman acts with caution and unite to bring these terrorists who are trying to bring the whole human civilization to a stand still to justice.

United States we are also a victim of terror……………………………
President Bush…………………….. If you think terror is only in Iraq………………………
You are wrong sir……………………………….
Show the Solidarity we need as we are just like you ………. A DEMOCRACY fighting terrorism.
Here are some more resources on the incident.

As usual our .NET user group meeting on the 7th was exciting and was awaited by many, since the likes of Merill and Wella hardly disappoints people with their presentations. Merill’s presentation on coding best practices, performance enhancement and bugs was a good one. It was a compact and well organized presentation and I always like Merill’s ability to explain stuff in a simple way. I had lot of things to learn there and I did………….

Wella did a cool presentation on CSS. I’m yet to touch what is in VS 2005 in terms of CSS and designing. Wella was kind enough to share this link with us. It’s Very Interesting.

Finally, there was a power failure in the whole Borella area and all the presentations were done in total darkness except for the light generated by the projector. (Projector was running on backup power).
Merill with a dark tea shirt and a trouser was invisible……………………………………[ :- ) ]
Wella was luckily wearing a more lighter coloured trouser………………………………[ :- ) ]

All in all it was fun.

After almost 8 years I managed to meet around 12 of my old school friends up in kandy. Two Guys were here on vacation from USA and one from New Zealand. Ironically everyone admits that none of us has not changed much during the last 8 years even though we live in different parts of the world.
We met over a Dinner and had many things to say and listen to. I’m happy that everyone is accomplished and are doing well. I kept contact with the guys in USA mostly through mail, but meeting them is an entirely different experience.
When we will ever meet again belongs to the future. I’m truely glad that I met them.
There were great days
and jolly days,
At the best school of all……………….’
